I wish I listened to a mate...
Watched Casino Royale last night. What a P O S!! I really didn't think that The World is Not Enough could be beaten as the worst bond film ever, but they managed it. Got to the bit where they are on the boat at the end and I thought - bad ending, bit short too. Then I noticed it still had 20 minutes to go! I nearly switched it off then. It didn't feel like a Bond film, it felt just like any other action film. Ranking from best to worst: All non Brosnen Bond films Goldeneye xXx All other Brosnen Bond films The World is not Enough Casino Royale Although I have to say that the Daniel Craig or whatever his name is wasn't bad as Bond, he was better than Brosnen which is a step in the right direction. Anyway - onto a decent film now. An American Werewolf in London Simon/~Flibster

When I saw the trailer for snakes on a plane my initial thought was "oh dear"
Never got to see it though, i just thought the premise of snakes killing people on a plane was a stupid idea!

Last night I watched Evil Aliens. I had it on my rental list simply because Emily Booth is in it, but I was expecting it to be bad. It really was.
The acting is terrible, and plot sucks, and the production values are low. However, the special effects are surprisingly good, especially where gore is concerned. The CGI is quite convincing on the UFOs, and there's a great bit where one crashes into a house that looked surprisingly realistic. There are also some strokes of stylistic genius in a couple of the scenes involving gunplay that put some modern films to shame. The fight between the three Welsh farmers and the aliens stands head and shoulders above the rest of the film. It's a shame the rest of it is so amateurish, clichéd and tacky, otherwise it could have been of the same calibre as Shaun of the Dead or Peter Jackson's Braindead. Might be worth a look if you're into the Troma style of filmmaking but not otherwise, apart from the aforementioned fight scene. There's a horribly wooden cameo from Norman 'Holly' Lovett at the start, but a surprisingly excellent turn from page free stunnah Jodie Shaw. Considering the track record of the main cast and the tone of the film, I was surprised that the only humanoid to get their norks out was a ropey old alien.
