I've never had it. I realised in Aroma the other week that they had some but I was on the ice cream by then I'd love to try it though.

I love sushi muchly. I don't have it very often so was really pleased to find a new Japanese restaurant near the office in France.

THere are no sushi restuarants in exeter
I was so enraged when I moved here I actually seriously considered putting a plan together for opening one myself. |

I have never tried proper Sushi, or even restaurant-quality Sushi (which in most cases in the UK still probably isn't proper - raw fish - Sushi).
All I've had is the supermarket imitation stuff, which I have to admit I seem to be addicted to. I generally have a look in Tescos every time I'm there - sometimes I resist, many times I don't. Oddly, I much prefer Tescos Sushi to Waitrose equivalent. PS - I never bother with the Wasabi or the Soy Sauce sachets, or the chopsticks (I have a supply if anyone wants some ). The ginger certainly does what it's supposed to though. |

Proper raw sushi is divine!
When I was in Japan a few years ago I went to one of the big fish markets at about 4am and ended up having sushi for breakfast at a restaurant just around the corner where the fish was so fresh it was still warm. Scrummy. |

Raw fish cuisine is called "Sashimi" Maki is the most commonly immitated dish aka "the sushi roll". Pheebs you and Lord Picklington of Onion should make the trip to Plymouth for a night at Yukisans! Fantastic selection of maki, sashimi, yakitori, kabayaki seafood (alot of lobster/oyster options), and then the delicious japanese steaks, ducks, chicken etc I smell... (and hopefully taste) a south west BD meet coming on!
