Default Khan -V- Barrera is on!!!

Not sure if any of you guys and gals are boxing fans - but I thought I'd share this with you.

It's just been announced that Khan will fight Mexican legend (albeit waaaayyyy passed it) Marco Antonio Barrera

Too much way too soon. Khan has the potential to be a great fighter, but even though Barrera is getting on a bit, he'll have far too much experience and ability for Khan to handle at this stage of his career. The one thing Barrera doesn't have though is a knockout punch, so Khan may be able to use his speed and agility to stay with him. It'll be very interesting to watch though, looking forward to seeing it.

Khan is another example of Piss poor British boxing management.
Although I am a Massive boxing fan & have even had a mate fight for the World Cruiser weight title I have no interest in Khan other than He/it will be a fight on the telly that I am able to watch, That's if it isn't pay per view of course.

Why do you say he's been poorly managed JSB? You don't think he's an exciting prospect?

I personally don't Davey. I've seen better prospects. He, for me, has been mis-managed, he's fought opponents that are completely under par and as soon as he fought anyone even remotely decent (read: average) he got knocked out in under a minute. It's like Harrison after his Olympic showing.

Khan is too much show, trying to do everything at one hundred miles an hour, but he gets tagged far too frequently, he got lucky that his opponents weren't hitters, as soon as he fought one he got caught out.

Barrera is far too big of a fighter, only his age will tell against Khan. Berrera is far too smart. Everyone went on about the last British talent having too much pace, too much power for Berrera... we all know how that went.

Was about to say the same Rich. I'd love to see him get put on his arse again as I can't stand his attitude.

Fully agree with you there. Every time he runs his mouth I keep waiting to see him go against someone who can punch again

Bit like Harrison, what a prat. The best one was when he went against a guy from Southend. Granted Harrison won on points, but after 8 rounds he was blowing and could barely stand. His opponent used the opportunity to rip the piss as after 8 rounds he just walked out the ring not looking too shabby. Can anyone remember the fight I mean, was hilarious.

Those two have been high profile turkeys. I do miss the days of big heavy hitters though.

He was once but that has been pissed away by Poor management setting up to many easy/money fights therefore not letting him progress as he needed to. Instead of gradually increasing the physical test fight after fight they wheeled out punch bags so they could all earn as much out of him as soon as possible, Same old same old.
Because of this as soon as he was tested he was sat on his arse like an Amatuer.
He has been allowed to carry on with his childish attitude to boxing acting like some Big Brother contestant, This has given him & his followers false belief which has also effected his development.
This is something that has happened in British boxing since the beginning of time & the reason I can Never trust a boxer or a boxing match in this country.
Anybody that shows any talent for boxing at all is moved on to the Entertaiment & money earning circuit rather than the road to becoming a World champion.
Basically as long as the Promoters & the Managers earn there money then nowt else is important. They protect there investment by pre arranging fights with journey men who won't test there fighter, It Sickens me.
