Getting rid of a tomcat without harassing our cat?
I know there's a good few cat owners on here so might have better luck than a google search
We've just moved into our new place and Richard has a little lady cat who's getting on fine and is now venturing outside. The downside to this is there's an evil tomcat around the area that keeps wazzing up everything in the garden now and it's really putting her off. Does anyone know of a way of keeping the tomcat out, whilst not putting her off going outside herself? The logical option is buy a tube of tennis balls and keep him out the old fashioned way, but not really keen on that.

Procure the piss of a bigger, meaner tomcat and put it round the edge of the garden.

Hang oranges over the sides of the fences. Try to make them nice and evenly spaced so the neighbours don't complain.

Water pistol.
Accompany your cat outside and if you see the tomcat, scare it while your cat is present. The tom should associate your cat and your garden with a scary human and avoid her if possible - repeat as many times as necessary. TBH, I'm not really an expert on dealing with cats in gardens as ours have a completely enclosed section but ultimately, they will have to sort it out themselves I think. Don't worry too much about your cat being a "lady cat". Females are that much more aggressive if they need to be - the female cats I've owned have always held their own in our household. Even the tiny rescue female Persian we have takes no crap from our male cats. Alternatively, I'll send you a photo of Borris - blow it up to poster size and place it in your garden
