96th Bomb Group Memorial - RAF Snetterton Heath
I've been meaning to photograph this for a while, we see it every time we go to Snetterton.
I managed to get there yesterday and put a pic in my 365, however I've been receiving some good comments about it so I thought I'd post up a series. The light wasn't great, but you can see what great potential this has. Plaque on the fence as you drive into the circuit, you can see the memorial is a plane flying up on large silvery stands. I have to admit, I haven't yet found out what the plane is. Another plaque in front of the memorial: Various shots of the plane: Plaque detailing the construction: Not sure who cleans it and how often! It's very shiny but a bit scratched!

Looks like a B-17 Flying Fortress to me.

"96th Bomb Group" - "God Speed"
Irony or what? I bless this bomb and curse everyone it kills in the name of the Lord.

96th @ Snetteton?
B17's It is a nice memorial. Surprised it hasn't been nicked for scrap metal value yet actually - as what happened to the DeHavilland Mosquito Memorial.
