Default Australian Grand Prix

*turns on the lights*

Morning! Just wondered if anyone else is up watching the GP? I'm in a thread in the 'other' place, but wondered if anyone here was around

It's only 7 in the evening here, but it appears if it's not Indy 500 or NASCAR, they're not interested in showing it on TV :-/

Aye, especially I spose as there's no North American GP this year (bloody shame imo).

That's pretty much why there's no North American GP - no interest in it and therefore no money to be made.

I considered it, but my bed was better so I stayed there.

Funnily enough I was wide awake at 5. But forgot all about qualifying

I watched it. *along with FP1, 2 and 3*

The interesting stuff happened after qualifying.

Hamilton's gearbox = broken - so grid penalty there which drops him to 20th place.

Williams protest Ferrari and Red Bull's aero package *something to do with winglets*

Toyota disqualified from qualifying as they rear wing is too flexible. They will start from 19th and 20th if they can replace the rear wing with one that complies to the rules.

Nick Heidfeld - BMW - at 691.5kg
Robert Kubica - BMW - at 650kg

Hmmmm

Yeah, the fuel loads were interesting (though it does take something away from the race, knowing that). Good to see the Brawns aren't light.

Do I detect animosity between David Coulthard and Eddie Jordan?

Those brawn cars are stunning. was loving the crap commentary. Wasn't expecting the other cars to be so close to the brawns in q1. yeah that's because they were all running softs and brawn hards.

Will be pressing the red button for the race.

Legard is almost worse than Allen was... I'll give him a little while during the race to see if he's any worse.

But Croft and Davidson are brilliant.
