Oh dear....
As well as being self employed I'm contracted by a couple of companies to do IT Support work here and there etc.
Just had an email asking me to work all day Saturday - fine by me Here's the email... "Hi Jake, just a quick one for you do you remember the company? **** Well they are moving offices (just 2 floors up) so we need you to go (blah blah blah blah) To confirm, it's just unplugging it, moving it 2 floors up, then plugging it back in what could possibly go wrong?" I think I need to find a new employer LOL....can see massive headache coming on Saturday. |

Office moves are never, ever as simple as they sound no matter how far things have to be moved.
We've got an office move coming up in Munich in a couple of weeks but they've planned to move the weekend I'm in New York so it'll be down to the minions to deal with the problems |

I moved 12 traders once (they were rearranging their desks), stayed 2 hours on Friday, worked 9am-12am Saturday and 9-5 Sunday. Have fun though yeah? I'm going to the zoo!

Yep, always problems. Enough power sockets, spaced properly for the setups, same story with network sockets. Moving networks and IP address changes for servers to be sorted with. I've never witnessed an office move with zero problems. There's always *something*

Unfortunately so.
The stumbling block we faced when moving offices in Sweden a few years ago (when I was off relaxing in Seattle - convenient!) was that building had no electricity supply. That was much fun as the lease expired on the old building the day after they were due to move into the new building. |

Good luck with the move Phate, maybe you'll be fortunate enough to have it go smoothly.
