Default blu-ray problem

finally got my htpc set up a couple of weeks ago and set about getting some blue-rays. I have watched oceans 13, casino royal and 30nights with not one single problem.
I then get I am legend which I'm very excited about, as I thought it was a resonance film anyway, but it has the non commercial ending on it as well. But this plays sound but no video. Is this because of data protection? do the others not have it. Try downloading anydvd trial and eh same thing happens, even though it said it's removed the aacs. So tried download dfdfab hd decrypter. But this does not pick the disc up.

so any idea what's going on? or is the disc just messed up, have had messed up discs from love film before.

Aren't problems with HD codecs/decoding/DHCP one of the reasons people on OcUK have said not to bother with an HTPC for BluRay?

only if you want to stay legal. As anydvd should solve any data protection problems.

If it was a DVD i'd suggest trying to rip it and such like but that can take almost a day for a BD even with a fast quad core.

That's what I've tried but dvdfab doesn't recognise it, even though it says it supports encrypted blue ray. which makes me wonder if it's the disc. A straight copy shouldn't take more than 2hours.

Just copying shouldn't take too long, I was on about encoding it, which is what takes the time.

It is and quite possibly is the disc but I have no idea what else to try. Have you asked over at OcUK or AV Forums? I suspect more people there have HTPC BluRay setups than do here.

Nope as it's against the rules, circumventing copyright.

Think I'll just do a report brioken disc and get them to send another. If it still happens a least that rules out the disc.

Got sent another disc and it does the same. i think i've found teh problem though. i noticed a box flash up and the ati gfx drivers is crashing. Which should explain teh siound but no picture. Might have to go back to vista if the new beta driver doesn't work.

woot ati has released a new driver and it doesn't even say beta. It now works even with out anydvd and it does have encryption. so looks like my system might be hdcp compliant.
