Lucky for them.

Maybe they should swap air marshalls with engineers...

Heard about this yesterday, Would have been cool if he had stood up from the back of the plane with an adjustable spanner shouting. I'd have been in bits on the floor shouting back BF2 DUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUDE !!!

They've updated that since I read it yesterday. Yes, very reassuring indeed. Good on him for volunteering, and good on both companies for seeing sense.

Well it was either that or wait for 8 hours in an airport. I know which I would prefer

No, he'd have built a new plane from 2 sheets of corrugated tin and a lawnmower.

Indeed - you'd have though that in this day of heightened "security" (I use that term in a very loose way so that it flops and flaps by the wind created by a moth's wing) they would allow a mere "passenger" to fix the problem (qualified or not). It's actually almost suprising to read they let him do it.

It is very refreshing to see some common sense prevailing - it's actually more news worthy than the actual event!
