Need to edit some video

Evening, well i'm a god at still image editing

but the only video i ever work with is encoding...

I've just taken the first video on my iPhone (of the crane based bungeee jump from the pub car park at the end of our street) and I need to crop it as its taken from my back garden, and maybe make it look a bit 'nicer' but i don't know where to start.

what software do i need?
