Gigapan
Last night I went to a local event called "Manoa Geeks" which is just a geek up, meet up, eat up and show thing. Covers pretty much anything, but those involved have to be locals or local companies.
Amongst them was biologist Richard Parmer, who happens to also take Gigapixel photographs for a hobby. He got to beta test some hardware called the Gigapan Epic a while back: http://www.gigapansystems.com/ Seems like a pretty good bargain. The gigapan photographs he's taken are just stunning. Amongst my favourites: http://www.gigapan.org/viewGigapan.php?id=5322 http://www.gigapan.org/viewGigapan.php?id=175 http://www.gigapan.org/viewGigapan.php?id=5938 http://www.gigapan.org/viewGigapan.php?id=24485 When you look at the page, below you'll see "Snapshots" which are zoomed in sections of the photograph that people have picked out. Try clicking on them to see some of the incredible detail.

That's just the snapshots some folks have chosen to make. If you look at the last picture I can guarantee no women's bottoms.
