A STATEMENT FROM NOEL
28 August 2009

"It's with some sadness and great relief to tell you that I quit Oasis tonight. People will write and say what they like, but I simply could not go on working with Liam a day longer.

"Apologies to all the people who bought tickets for the shows in Paris, Konstanz and Milan."
Oh My God. Sad, Sad times. At least we've been able to hear some great music from them over the years.
I've been expecting a split for ages, they never seem to get along with each other :/

Yeah I read about that earlier. To be honest, Noel was the best part of Oasis and the rest of the band had been replaced so many times that it didn't really matter. I'm sure he'll do stuff on his own.

It always seemed to me that Noel was the talent and Liam the charisma in Oasis.. hard to picture success for either of them on stage without the other, but I'd put my money on Noel being the most likely to continue to be successful.

Technically it doesnt mean that Oasis have split, just that Noel has had enough of Liam and left.

^^ Morning Glory is one of the albums that defines a generation. One of the best albums ever.

Can't say I'm a big fan of them - although to be fair the live set they did at V last time I went was pretty good. Which one is normally the singer? Because the other one is much better at it

That sums up my feelings tbh. They've done some decent music but I always felt they were massively overrated. Add to that the fact that Liam is one of the most annoying people ever, and I don't feel anything regarding them splitting up.
