Stephen Fry on depression - Letter to a fan
This is one of the reasons I love this guy.
clicky I think anyone who suffers from depression or anxiety or any other disorder that makes them feel like things are pointless would benefit from the insight he shows in this letter

Thats really lovely. I know a lot of people who have struggled with depression, and this is a really apt comparision....and one I may have to use myself in future!!

Yup I love that guy too in a completely hetrosexual way. It was watching his show on depression that really made me think about it. I also like his analogy. The one I use is that I've got a cold. You know you just get a cold sometimes. Theres no medication to fix it, just stuff that'll get you through it and you have to remember that in a few days you won't have a cold. Its bloody frustrating but it will pass.

Really bizarre thing to notice reading his letter but there's a massive typo - or at least I can't see any form of reasoning as to why it would be written the way it is!
"BUT It will be sunny one day. It isn’t under one’s control as to when the some comes out, but come out it will. One day." I'm not doubting that the letter was from Stephen Fry, just funny to see an error as obvious as that in a letter from such an educated fellow I worship the man. Top stuff. |

His Intellect & memory along with his compassion & own life experience touches so many people in a good way. Major Kudos to Mr Fry. |

Stephen Fry's awesome.
I can't find the link but the letter he wrote to himself for the future was amazing. So was his reply. Edit - here it is : http://www.guardian.co.uk/media/2009...ter-gay-rights

I noticed that typo as well Pheebs and was about to post the same thing.
Still, lovely analogy. However as he said, there's not much he can do to help her really.
