Anyone good at making animated gif images?

I have a pic I want to animate, but have the artistic talents of a dead fish. I'm hoping someone on here has a couple minutes and can work some graphic magicking on it.

Hoping to have the barrel flash and smoke trail look like the gun is firing.

Can't animate the pic as I have similar a similar artistic bent to you Darrin, but Rear Admiral Sir Fayshun Sr. RN Rtd. worked on something like that way back when he was in the Navy.

Looks like a Phalanx. As you said it's a high velocity cannon used as a last gasp defence against anti-ship missiles.
