Leg exercise
I've been having trouble with my knee joints for a while and I eventually went to the docs about it. Weak muscles I'm told, particularly on the inside of my knees. I tried to make sense of working out which muscles that would be, but failed miserably.
Anyone got any tips/stretches/exercise suggestions to help improve the situation please? Thanks! |

As my knees are fubar - I do have a big list of knee exercises given to me by my torturer... sorry, physio.
I'll see if I can find them and if I can, scan them and upload them somewhere. There is about 4 double sided a4 pages of the things. Most are not fun.

You really need to get proper advice off a physio. What works for one won't always work for another and can even do more damage.
First physio appointment will only cost about £40 and is well worth the money as will all be relevant to you. My physio is a miracle worker!

Good idea, thanks. No idea where to start with doing that though.

Ask around. People will recommend you theirs if they're any good. Get some names and have a look at their websites and see who appeals to you most. I visited 3 until I found a physio I was happy with.
Mine is fab. First appointment he sorted out my posture which has now made my core stronger. He's also got to the root of how I tore my left abductor and healed that and also healed in days what I thought was going to take months to sort. The problem with knee/foot problems is that these areas are often showing the signs of a problem elsewhere. So while a lot of people would treat the symptoms a good physio will work out why you are hurting in that area and it is often down to bad posture or a back weakness. The human body is a chain and if you get a problem in your back this is translated in a more exaggerated manner further down so the problem may show itself in your knees/ankles. A good physio is worth their weight in gold, especially when you're in my business where you rely on your body to be able to work!

Thanks again. All sound advice there.
Booked myself in for a Nuffield 360+ in September. That'll cover a lot of ground for underlying issues. Going to enquire about Physio at work. I know a few people there use one. Oh, and I do have a back weakness and it's very likely I have bad posture. The former was found in my teens (and made worse by weight) and the latter is due to computers and eyesight. |

Great story and just shows what damage we do without thinking!
If you carry a bag on one shoulder this can also throw you out and cause problems. Changing something so simple can make a huge difference to how you feel.
