Default Hot honey and lemon

*Sniffle*

Yup, I'm ill

Got a nice dark runny organic honey and thought I'd share some of my variations on hot honey and lemon while I sip and sooth my throat.

Hot honey and lemon with gin

Whether this actually helps you in any way is debatable but it's so satisfying it's not true and the gin really makes you feel better...

2 tbsp freshly squeezed lemon juice, 1 large tsp honey, 150ml hot water, gin to taste (not too much though )

Hot honey and lemon with ginger

This one actually is good for you and the zing from the ginger helps clear the congestion.

2 tbsp freshly squeezed lemon juice, 1 large tsp honey, chunk of ginger about the size of the end of your thumb, 150ml boiling water.

Steep for a minute or two or until it's gingery enough for you, fish the ginger out and enjoy

If you're feeling brave; lemongrass, garlic and chilli make amazing decongestants when infused. I dare anyone to give it a go

Don't know if you know, but Pineapple juice is excellent for a cold and sore throats. Lots of Vitamin C and bromelain.
