Contacts, upgrades and Dads oh my!
Sickly Pappa Jingo is getting an upgrade from an 3gs to and iPhone 4 16GB and has no clue as to work either model other than making phone calls.
Can anyone tell me if there is a simple way to transfer his contacts from his 3g to his computer (windows vista) and then on to his new iphone 4 when it arrives. I'm aware of the new microminisuperskinnyteenytinyslimsim and so it's not just a case of popping that in, transferring etc. As this will most likely have to be done down the phone, with an impatient gentleman, any advice you lot can share would be much appreciated

Tell iTunes to sync contacts to Windows Address Book (or Outlook if installed). Sync. Switch to iPhone4. Sync.
Job done. |

OK Burbs, thanks for that
It sounds simple but we'll see how Daddy gets on with it

hahaha Kitten, I've been in a similar world ever since he got his 3gs... he got to the word iTunes before stating that he will "just play with it a bit until it either works how he wants, or I see him next and sort it out"

Done and dusted and reasonably painless!
All sorted (in person) in about 5 minutes - just as Burble described Thanks again

if there's an apple store near him he could pop in for the iphone 4 workshop to find out the things it can do without you needing to do it all.
