Where to buy car head units?
But on the high street? Apart from Halfords, i can't think of many other places... I'm driving home on friday and i've done without radio because i barely use the car these days. But driving for maybe 4 hours in my heap on metal without radio is enough to drive anyone MENTAL i'm sure. Hence i just need to look out for something, but something nice too.
Ideally very good at interfacing with an iPod. Something which my last two definitely haven't done (Sony MEXsomething and Alpine 103BT). They took over the iPod and i'm fine with that but their interface on the head unit was totally rubbish... I'm still thinking strongly at buying a iO Play thanks to Desmo's recommendations last year. I wonder if you're still getting on with it now? |

Halfords!? :P ha.
Other than that I can't really think of anywhere. Was in Richer Sounds recently but I don't think they had them. Whats wrong with Halfords anyway? A mate of mine just got one of these: http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/s...egoryId_165474 & my mum got me one of these - http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/s...Id_165474#dtab which I havent yet fitted, but does take SD cards as well |

They have a propensity to take the michael with some of their prices
For example: Pioneer DEH-1300MP CarAudioDirect: £65 Halfords: £140

That and its not even slightly convenient to get to here in Edinburgh... My car is parked quite far away and it's generally easier to walk places right now Oh the irony...
Fay Aldi is a good call but also miles away. Argos i like! I'll have a nosey now |

Well after looking around i want the Pioneer MVH-8200, looks perfect for what i want, maybe the MVH-8200BT but i think i'd rather use the iO Play with it... Either way i can't get that in shop today or tomorrow, i could order it now, with expected next day delivery from caraudiodirect, but i really don't expect it to turn up So for now i'm going to go buy the cheapest head unit with aux in from argos.
Lets be honest it'll play the radio nd i can plug an ipod into it, that'll o for a journey home for now! Beats no sound at all |
