Unhappy Am I the only one who thinks TG sucked last night?

TG is so bad this season. It's been on its way down for a few seasons now, but last nights was just appaling. The "star in a car" (which is always tedious at the best of times) was deeply cringworthy, the "M3 Vs. Audi" sketch was mildly interesting in a "what's the RS5 like?" even though they didn't really go into it in any detail and the bit with the combine harvester was just... well... what can I say? Abysmal?

I'm just sick of the overly scripted "oh-oh... we've just accidentally run a building over, crashed into a car, set someone on fire" and so on. It was mildly amusing several seasons ago (even if it was, despite what Clarkson insists, so transparently scripted that you knew exactly what was going to happen at any given moment) but now it just smacks of desperation.

My review? 1/10. They only scraped a point for the 30 second "review" of the RS5. The rest was dreadful, just dreadful.

This whole series has been pretty woeful. Even my 10 year old nephew gave up on it last night because he thought it's all a bit too silly.

I got about 10 minutes in to last nights episode when the phone rang and I haven't gone back to it yet. Probably won't bother.

TG is a 2 different show these days, the series are cruddy but the specials are usually outstanding. The 2 specials they did over Christmas, the middle East one especially were excellent.

My thoughts exactly, I barely watch it these days and it's only put on if there's nothing else to watch. Seeing them standing on the ice last night guessing at the depth and weight allowance on the ice is just cringe worthy. It may have been funny years ago but they really need to change the format now. As if the BBC and anyone would allow that on the ice with ANY risk of it falling through. And then, oh no, the plane has crashed, quick....RUN AWAY!!!!

It's bloody pathetic.

Nope - I thought last night's was dire.

Last week's wasn't bad though I have to say, I quite enjoyed it.

Having no interest in modern cars, I don't watch it for the reviews anyway, so quite enjoyed it

TG may as well forget any pretence of being a car show. It's just entertainment and nothing more. That, as I don't drive, is fine with me.

However, there's only so many times they can have a pointless race/blow something up/whatever before the format runs out of steam. They're probably pretty close to that point now.

But that's the problem, even the "entertainment" parts are purile, childish and predictable. They really seem to fancy themselves as a modern twist on the three stooges and all that slapstick stuff.... but instead of it being sharp and funny, like the stooges were then, it's over egged and feeble.

When someone back in the day was carrying a plank of wood, and smacked another around the head in a violent but inept accident, it was hysterical (at the time), but "oh dear, I appear to have set a gentleman alight!", "Oh dear Jeremy, what a foolish boy you are!" isn't even worth a smile.

Bring back the days of a rocket powered mini jumping from a ski-slope and having a remote control robin reliant 'space launch'.

Silly yes, but realistic antics of the childish nerds with too much money = entertaining!

Trying to make out that they set a caravan site on fire / smashed up a car wash through hillarious accident = utterly transparent.

Trying too hard; I turned over when they smashed the windows out of the BMW with grit.
