Free Holiday ! Club La Costa

Well I have been contacted by Club La Costa and offered a free holiday !
Well there is no such thing as a free lunch !
So the criteria is I have to attend a 2 hour meeting and if I book my free holiday ( valid up to 6 people ) it is £29.50 for the first 4 people and £99 each for the remaining 2.

Now I have read all the small print and there is no purchase, no subscription, no signing a form or contract to claim the said free holiday.
I need to supply 3 dates I am available and I should get one of the dates I have submitted.

My question is has any been to the Club La Costa meeting and has any one been on their FREE holiday ! ?

Is it a scam or not ! ?

That's the 'big juicy worm of a holiday'. Hook, line, and sinker!

Hard sell extreme plus a bucket load of hidden extras disguised as airport and passenger taxes, and god knows what else.

If you're made of sufficiently stern stuff to resist the hard sell, then by all means go, but if there's any mention at all of up-front costs, then run for the hills!

Personally, I'd decline. They're immediately ringing alarm bells with the 'free holiday', but 'oh, but you've got to pay this fee, that fee, and twenty thousand other fees' and the final 'sorry, but all three of your dates are not available - thanks for your fees, now get lost'. They're not all cowboys, but many are, and the rest are trying to sell you stuff.

Parents have gone on lots of free holidays. It's just pushy hard sale, just resist. As said there's usually taxes on top so read the small print.

Its not 'free' if you are paying £29.50 for the first 4 people and £99 each for the remaining 2. lol

For £29.50 that is alot of free things!

I think when you see things like this, you have to think about how are they getting their money? They obviously have to pay a fair amount for the holiday, so how are they getting it so cheap, how do they get the money for it? You or somewhere else? What is their incentive. If you can answer those and it isn't you paying for it all then go for it

Well I suppose the accommodation is already there and if we stay we will more than likely spend on food and drink.
Flights could be chartered, so again the company has paid out for the seat so no fill is no revenue. If they sell it for minimum value say £29.50 + taxes then that is a contribution towards the cost of the plane.
I suspect what the free holiday is all about ( apart from the £29.50 ) is we like the resort and then buy it to the time share. Plus I am sure we will then get another hard sell at the resort as well !

There's nowt wrong with time share if you get the right people and do it for the right reasons. My parents got pulled in for free/cheap tours and signed up to one - but they love it there, know several of the staff and look forward to going back year after year. I've been there twice myself and I nearly did the same - but pulled out at the last minute.

In other words - if the 'free' holiday was not there, would you still be interested in going to the meeting? If yes, then go - you've nothing to lose. If no, then think twice.

If you can tollerate the hard sell, do it.
If you can't, and are likely to cave and end up buying into the time share, don't.
