Audiobooks
I've ended up rather addicted to Audiobooks and would welcome any recommendations. Strangely it started when I got my Megane in August 2010 as it has bluetooth connection for phones that also does audio meaning I could stream audiobooks from my phone to my car stereo. Since then when I am on my own in the car (95% of the time) I listen to audiobooks rather than radio or music and I've now started listening to them when I go to bed as it normally takes me a while to get to sleep.
I've run through the entire range of Pratchett's Discworld, Stieg Larsson's Millenium trilogy and have just started 1Q84 (also reading it as well). Any recommendations for books to look out for or any Narrators that are particularly good? |

The Hobbit is ace on audiobook
The Harry Potter books as read by Stephen Fry also make an excellent driving companion!

Will give The Hobbit a go. I'm all Pottered out after 10 years of non-stop Potterism but it does kind of highlight something about audiobooks that I didn't initially appreciate and that is the narrator, obviously Fry is brilliant but I downloaded Short History of Nearly Everything from Audible and the narrator has such a grating voice that I only lasted 5 minutes. |

Aaaah.. Someone else has come round to my way of thinking. I adore audiobooks. According to the audible app on my phone, I've averaged 16 hours a day over the last week.
Anyway, on my large mp3 player: Carrie Fisher's Wishful Drinking Douglas Adams's Hitchhikers Guide Trilogy *in 5 parts* Tom Clancy - The Ryanverse Bill Bryson's travel books BBC adaption of Bram Stoker's Dracula George Carlin Gregory Maguire Michael Palin Seth Grahame-Smith - Really out of copyright books re-written slightly. Pride and Prejudice and Zombies for example Mark Kermode Tim Moore Tony Hawks - not the skareboarder, the standup Max Brooks The Full cast version of The Godfather Ben Elton's novels Toby Young Ian Fleming's Bond books Jeff Lindsay's Dexter series Rob Grant & Doug Naylor Stephen Clarke - The Merde series. NPR Radio Drama version of Star Wars Shakespeare plays - extremely expensive set this was too. Made by a company called Arkangel It is an issue with some of them. Interestingly I found William Roberts to be significantly better than Bill Bryson when reading his own books. Audible is a good source though, been with them for years now and have around 200 books.

Thanks guys, any suggestions on where to buy them? I'm finding Audible really expensive outside of the 1 monthly credit.
