OMGWTF BBx runs the Virgin London Marathon!!
Hi guys,
In september last year I ran in the Run to the Beat Half Marathon and completed it in 2hours 17mins - was a hot day for a September and not too bad for my first half marathon! Anyway, so as I was the fittest I had ever been and having being inspired by my Coach - Reevo (aka Lostkat) I have kept my running training up and successfully managed to get a place in this year's Virgin London Marathon through a charity! I am so glad I managed to get in - for years I have watched the Marathon and people take part and couldn't imagine the feeling of achievement you would get at the end of the 26.2miles. I have to raise £1500 for the charity and the fundraising is already underway. The charity that I am supporting this time is IT4CH which is a charity that provides IT equipment to sick kids in hospitals so that they can keep in touch with their friends and families and keep up to date with their schooling. For more information click here: http://www.it4ch.com/pages/Who.htm After this one - no more running! I can retire from running - hooray! I don't enjoy running - which makes the training even harder to do! If you are able to support me in contributing some money or if you are in London and able to come and cheer me on that would be brilliant! Just click on the logo above to get to my fundraising page. Thanks in advance people! BB x |

Marathon Update :
Been a bit awol of late... mainly due to the training taking over my life. Life currently consists of me planning my next run... long run... training session. The other weekend I attended a London Marathon seminar. It was truly inspirational when they were talking through the whole day I almost had a tear in my eye. I came out of it quietly confident as I had done all the things they said I should be doing and what point of my training I should be at. I met one lady who had been told the week before that she was doing the marathon and hadn't started training yet... Was a really good day and am glad I braved the snow to attend it - was full of good training advice and nutritional advice along with the obligatory sales push thanks to Adidas (and yes all the speakers were wearing Adidas kit ) I didn't need anything but came out with a souvenir T Shirt which I will take with me on Marathon day to change into afterwards In other Marathon news... on 19th March I am going to meet the CEO of the charity that I am running for (IT 4 Children) to visit a couple of the hospitals and some of the kids in the hospitals who benefit from the fundraising. Last weekend I managed to PB my Half Marathon at Brighton Half Marathon... there was all sorts of controversy because there was an extra half mile on the course. I did 18.5miles yesterday... this is in prep for the next milestone training run - Ashby 20 miles!!! eeek! Achy knees yesterday and ice bath... all this to look forward to. Thanks to those who have sponsored me thus far!!! BB x |
