Default Tightening my clutch cable?

Tightening the clutch cable on a corsa is easy, just pull & twist the screw. I could do with some reassurance for my Polo though.

My Clutch position is getting way too low and I know it could be damage to the pedal box but it could also be helped if I can tighten it up.

Unfortunately the clutch cable isn't all that accessible. Is this screw the limit screw or does that look like what I need to give a turn?

Have you had a look over on clubpolo? I got some advice regarding my polo off there a few times. Very helpful.

That looks like a locking nut that needs releasing & then you twist the big plaggy bit.

Thank You. I thought that was the case when I looked at one on Google. The engine compartment makes it tough to get through to it. Will have to have another look tomorrow.

Jack up that front corner stick an axle stand under the motor & do it from underneath. Before you even get the trolley jack out soak that nut & the long threaded bit with WD40. After you have adjusted the clutch pump the pedal like crazy Before you take it off the axle stand just in case it needs further adjusting.

I'm just a man with a tool box (tools designed for my bikes!) so I'll have to do what I can. Jobs requiring that kind of kit I have a friend to help with, but I'll try and do this one by myself. Just got to wait a while for the engine to cool down.

*edit
Great suggestion on the WD40! Managed to do it almost without any pliers!
It's not raised the level of the pedal, but has stiffened it up, so perhaps it's damage to the pedal box. Will have to see how I get on & then maybe get it looked at.

If you have no trolley jack then just put the nearest front wheel up on the kerb & that will give you enough room to do the job.
