Barebooks?
Basically a barebones laptop, anyone know any places to get these from? Google is being useless. Basically I want the shell, keyboard/touchpad, mobo, the rest i want to do myself. Cant really find any decent form of selection seems to be all Asus or something or other and not too many variants at that.

Going by a post on another forum Syntax make laptop barebones, I think there are a few more companies as well but normally they only sell to systems integrators in bulk. Also take a look at Laptopking as that appears to sell most of the parts you would need.
However I'm really not sure it is worthwhile, building a laptop isn't particularly easy as I understand it because you have to be even more careful than normal about heat dissipation etc and if you buy pre-built you will at least have a warranty and reassurance that it will work.
