Acting differently in online games

It's relevant to other games but as I noticed it in WoW, figured I might as well focus on that.
I've been trying out a few different classes on a new server as some mates from my CS clan want me to join up with them again.
Played a Hunter for a bit (always end up playing hunters) and noticed, every time any one got in the way while I was trying to solo I kept thinking 'piss off'.
Next day, played a Druid (CS mate suggested they could do with a healer and I didn't want to go Priest) and suddenly I'm wandering round buffing players just because I can and because I like doing so.

Now, I've been a moody, over stressed git the past week so it might just be down to that. Just seemed weird and got me thinking a bit more analytically about what had changed.

So my question is:
Do you think playing a different class can affect how you interact with other players?
Do you take on the persona of what's expected of someone of that class?

And not online, but in Oblivion, I just can't help being horrible to people. I'm spiteful, I steal, I murder and maim for fun... I can't help it!

I find my character changes a little in on-line games but not drastically. I do tend to favour the paladin style classes. I don't know why because its generally not the best class in an online MMORPG neither specialising in healing nor in tanking; but there you have it.

Applying buffs to other characters

Buffs are any enhancements, like using a spell to increase your tanking characters damage resistance, or improving his health regeneration speed.

I know what you mean. I don't think I've ever laughed so hard as when I pushed an unkillable NPC up some stairs in a house just so I could shoot him in the face with an arrow to knock him over the bannister. It knocks them out for a few seconds but they're soon up and about and lining up for more!

Another good one is the guy that runs the shop in the port at Anvil (another one that can't be killed). Get him to stand next to all the bric-a-brac in his store and, if you're powerful enough, you can knock him out with one power swing from a sword. The noise as he impacts with the shelves, tables and various ornaments, sending everything flying, is very satisfying!

I think I enjoy it too much.

Sorry for not defining it

Really wish I knew a big community of online gamers to see what their feelings are on it, this concept really interests me, probably partially because I want to see if I'm just weird or not

I started playing WoW again earlier this week, I'm a priest. I think it's fun healing people and I help out people I see in the wild but I'm a pretty nice guy in real life too.

)

Whenever I'd walk near anyone who could cast buffs on others I'd always get a buff. Total strangers notwithstanding, they still lend a hand
