spec me a php editor (free)
I have been thrown in the deep end somewhat and need to start using php. I made my first hello world webpage earlier, but need to do a lot more than that.
Can someone spec me a good php editor that is preferably free. Many thanks. M

I use Notepad2 for all my editing needs (php, html, sql, vbscript, linux/windows shell).
Notetab does just as good a job of syntax highlighting, but with a tabbed interface. Bit bloaty for my tastes (I just wanted a notepad replacement), so I dont really use it.

Hmm, what about free IDE's? Ideally I would like a frontpage-esque editor that does WYSIWYG.

I just use Dreamweaver for mine then test it through my own local Apache server, never even thought of using a proper PHP editor.

Ditto.
If your ISP offers webspace, they might have something, though usually it's tied to their webspace. |
