Myspace mobile
It's sort of an interest of mine to question this..
I know myspace doesn't have an API. I also know that some company is doing myspace mobile as a proprietary service for cellphones in America. I also know that Myspace uses standard http protocol, and you don't need to worry about private/public key encryption. With this in mind, is it possible to develop a script that scrapes the contents of your myspace messages page after accepting a valid username and password? I'm not interested in hearing whether you're a fan of myspace or not unfortunately, and this question could easily be applied to any other forms-based web application. Does this fall under Cross Site Scripting if I'm planning to host this stuff myself? Any thoughts? Cheers, Karl. |

I'd be more worried about breaking MySpace's TOS and/or trademarks, particularly if another company is offering the service - they may have an exclusive deal to provide it.
