Cheap cookery attempt
Probably no one else is bothered but I'm proud
Since getting back to Stafford just over a week ago I decided that I was going to empty my cupboards of most things until I reached a point where I couldn't form a meal out of it. Now as a not at all experienced cook, this seemed rather scary at first! But I needed to save the money and figured it'd be a good learning experience I figured I'd give it a try. Only rule I've set myself is I can buy fresh stuff (so I have bread and eggs and milk). After a few unexciting things with pasta, I was bored of pasta. So I had a look in the cupboards and found a tin of new potatoes, a tin of carrots,a jar of curry sauce, some frozen brocolli and 2 potato waffles in the freezer. Figured as I've got no meat in the house (besides some wafer thin chicken stuff I have in sandwiches) I'd make a veggie curry. So 20mins later......ta da I know it's nothing fancy really but I feel proud that I came up with it and it worked. Even better it tastes delicious and I made enough so that I've got some for tomorrow too And it was dirt cheap too thanks to the veg being all Asda smart value. Also as a side note of 'yay'. That means I've had 5 portions of veg today which is a record for me as I'm usually crap with veg. I had lots of cucumber and lettuce in my sandwich for lunch earlier, as well as had breakfast. So erm, yeah

Might have been a bit messy
I'm quite surprised how pleased I am, just this feeling alone will encourage me to make another conconction And I am pleased I got to my daily portion of veg, funny thing is I like most veg, just never seem to know what to do with it to make it really interesting. This meal will definitely be a regular weekly thing I think Been trying to eat more healthily as it is. LOL Dawn

I mooed up my chicken quorn tonight - it started to dry out so I added some water... which was too much... so I added gravey garnules! Not quite what I was hoping for but it tasted nice all the same! Keep it up |

I think I am going to head up to the cess pit and cook myself some food. You might have inspired me to do something!
