Default New Laptop for business use £800

I've been out of the loop for like 3 years in computers, a friend needs a lappy for about £800 max for his business. Don't need fancy graphic so long battery life, nice screen, small and reliable are the main feature. Anyone have any suggestions?

I'm not that clued up myself, but does it need to be new with warranty? If so probably dell, they always seems to be cheap and cheerful and not all *that* bad...

Otherwise, as usual i'd definately recommend second hand laptops

Convince him not to bother? Really what is the difference? A new box and aset of instructions he probably wont read? He will either get a laptop he likes for cheaper, or, a better laptop for him money. At the expense of a warranty, if he saves a few hundred (which he easily can) its there in case anything buggers up down the line

Plus its all better for the environment!

Unless he *really* needs a 3 year warranty or his work are buying it DONT get a new one!

We use Acer laptops at work and they are great. Screens maybe larger that what he is after but we haven't had any problems with any of them
