You're not selling it to me very well. I just interpret that as "Opera already has all sorts of extra unnecessary cack installed whether I want it or not"

Opera all they way, the only thing it used to have against it was it cost money. Mouse gestures are a godsend, and free integrated content blocker just to begin.

Opera lacks Google browser sync so it's off the table for me (well, that and I dont really get on with it anyway). That thing is a god send.

Just looked that google thing up, not entirely sure what it does though? I like the way i can install opera on a new build or use opera portable and i dont need to install any extensions everything is there ready working and integrated by the developer not by some 3rd party dude (which is good, but can be unreliable).

Although sometimes it gets memory happy but then firefox has always had this issue as well, and it really only is if i leave opera with 40+ tabs open over a week etc...

Syncronises my bookmarks, cookies and browser history around all the Firefox instances I use on whatever machine I want. Saves hunting for bookmarks or logging into sites again and again when I move machine/OS. Total god send when you dual boot, work remotely and work in VM's a lot.

Tried Opera a few years back and didn't really get on with it well. I dare say it has changed a bit since then but I'm happy with Firefox so I can't see me changing in the near future.

Firefox can be a bit of a memory hog but most of my rigs (certainly the ones I use for browsing) have a surfeit of memory, so this isn't a problem for me.
