Noob GPS questions (PDA)
I've just bought a Palm TE2 for two reasons..
1) Satsify gadget lust 2) Always wanted a PDA and mostly 3) Can't afford a bike specific tomtom type jobbie, and the car ones don't have a headphone jack, so this bad boy's going in the see through bit of my tankbag so I don't get lost I'm going to snide a copy of Tomtom 5 for it, but I'm a nub at this stuff. for a GPS receiver, will any bluetooth one do? This one: http://www.mobilefun.co.uk/product/7246.htm is cheap.. would that do it? I'm a noob! I'm just waiting for it to charge so I can play with it Just noticed on the list it doesn't list the Palm TE2

Agreed. Having owned various earlier GPS devices, I wouldn't buy anything that didn't have the SIRF chipset today.

Prices seem to be going from about £80 for those, I can't really afford that...
What will be bad about a cheap GPS receiver? I mean if it's not going to work properly/at all obviously I will have to spend more, but if it's just going to be a bit sluggish, I could deal with that.

Yes bluetooth is bluetooth
I was going to suggest the Holux 236 slim which both me and MB have but looking at the price of them now ..........ive had mine for a good 6 months and im sure i could sell it on ebay now for a good profit But like MB said anything with the SIRF III chipset will be the way to go |
