Default Don't use Azureus

For a good number of years I have used azureus to download torrents. However they have now released a new client addition called vuze that you must download when you get the latest version. This is in collaberation with various film/broadcasters.

From what has happened in the past, this thing is now very likely to be reporting what you are downloading back to HQ to pass on. Currently they say that this is not happening.... but look at Kazaa/Limewire. I very rarely use torrents now anyway but just incase people still are.... this is a warning to you

Giganews is a bit sledgehammer to crack a nut. Newshosting or any of the slightly cheaper ones will still be more productive for longer than a torrent, probably faster, and no sharing.

Right then - I won't download the latest version.

Hardly use it anymore anyway.

I use newgroups as well now. Hopefully the masses will stay away from them as they are currently for more techy people. If the masses move to newsgroups then we will have hell and all trouble.

Without a doubt newsleecher (yeah get the paid version, pay if you wish). Sign up to newshosting for cheapish great access and pretty decent retention, and sign up to NewzBin for an index to the whole of usenet (newsgroups).

Done

Hmmmm. I <3 Azureus. I love its web interface and plugins and such. I'm not sure if I'm running this extra fun plugin or not. I think I'll do some research and maybe look at the other OSX ones.
