RIP Courtney puss
My beautiful Courtney died last night aged 14.
She was a very loving little cat. When the children were babies if they woke and cried she'd run up the stairs before me so that by the time I got there they would be cooing at her as she sat next to them. I used to call her Nanny then. When people ask why I chose her I always tell them when I was shown the litter one little skinny kitten tottered over to me as if she knew me and that she chose me instead. She was diagnosed as in kidney failure a few months back and was on tablets to keep her happy, and she was. I was lucky to have those extra few months with her. She went out for a walk yesterday and died suddenly in a neighbours garden. It was very quick and she looked very peaceful. I love you little Courtney puss and I'm very honoured you chose me to look after you. I only hope I did you justice. I am not looking for sympathy here but I want the whole world to know what a damn good cat she was.

Losing a pet is like losing a member of the family, and Courtney sounded exactly like a member of the family.
*big hugs* RIP Courtney

Thanks all.
Kids are very upset. Courtney was older than the two youngest so she'd always been there as far as they were concerned. Was just remembering how I once caught Kai, my eldest, and Courtney under the counter in the kitchen eating cheese when they were both about 2. Courtney had knocked it off the sideboard, he'd unwrapped it and they were both sharing it!

Awww, poor Courtney, she sounds like a lovely cat.
I remember how cut up I was when my Thomas had to go, I still miss him. Sound like she was well loved and I'm sure you all have many happy memories of her.
