I think that was posted in the kittah thread. It's good enough to warrant its own though.

Yes that reminds me of Monty. He was 7-8kg on the scales (he did get bigger) and I used to have my bed next to the wardrobe. The git would get ontop of the wardrobe and then jump straight down onto my stomach.
Now imagine a cat weighing 8kg jumping about 1-1.5m down onto your stomach with his two front paws. It feels exactly like someone has punched you in the gut. Bloody wakes you up though |

I missed this the first time but that's excellent
The 2 cats that ever used to regularly wake me were Sparky and Tino. Sparky used to claw my bed about an inch in front of my nose... I think it was in that *puts hand in front of face* "not touching! not touching! can't get mad! not touching" kinda way but if you got in the way it hurt! Tino was just a bloody heavy cat and he'd lie on my chest, after a few seconds you couldn't breathe and woke up thinking you were having a heart attack! Roddy, who's actually a dog, is the funniest though. Every morning he bites my Dads nose if he's been in bed too long

My Diva alarm clock goes off at 6am every morning. My Aslan one appears to be set to snooze.

One of our cats does the patting the ear trick with his paw. One of our others does the whole jumping on the bed trick (Borris) which means I have to sleep face down as he's somewhat weighty and can inflict a fair amount of pain if I'm lying face up

I'm surprised the whole bed doesn't fall through the floor.

Cleo woke me up a few times. No jumping on me or using baseball bats. Nah she always had her claws out so I got a nice bit of morning acupuncture to my chest. Certainly woke me up!!
