I walked past a florist today and saw some potted plants that looked really nice, but i think my mum would just prefer a day off. Might get her some new jumpers, she likes jumpers.

I got her a home and garden type mag subscription last year, but thanks Paula, I might get her something from Peacocks as well

I've never understood Mother's Day. Why do people need to wait for Clinton Cards or WH Smiths to tell them to show some gratitude to their parents? Its exactly the same as Valentines Day. "Hmmm, looks like everyone else is taking this one day of the year as an opportunity to think about someone else for a change and do something romantic for my other half, or for someone who I think is special. Perhaps I'd better jump on the bandwagon, for fear of being outed as a non-believer and ostracised from society, destined to live out the rest of my days as a hermit."

Isn't it a Christian thing rather than something designed by a card company?? Something to do with the Mother Church?? /tries to remember the brainwashing at school... Edit - oh, surprise surprise, we celebrated it first, and it's to do with Mother Earth and Nature. Nowt new there then I've always celebrated it as it means a lot to my mum, and especially now we live far away from each other.
