Default Network Help - XP Home

Lady at work brought her laptop in as it was riddled with spyware and trojans. After installing AVG, Spybot and Adaware, I've cleared out all of the crap and it seems to be fine....apart from now there is no internet connection. It was working fine before I did anything but now nothing shows at all in Network Connections and nothing is listed when I ipconfig /all.

Any ideas as to what is going on? I did remove some things from startup using MS config and Spybot, but I searched the net for each string to make sure of what they were and thought they were OK to clear. Only one I'm not sure of now is one that started netdde.exe bout something called Aaou.

Any ideas on where to start?

Still no joy after running through Leo's link. Only thing I can do is install SP2 which it downloaded yesterday but hasn't been installed yet. What do ya reckon?
