Default Hmmmm...... Interesting (Ebay)

Well I have just received an email from Ebay saying that I am the highest bidder for a soldering Iron.......but I haven't bidded for anything. Hmmmmmmm...... Interesting me thinks

Yup I have done that, changed password and security question, also emailed ebay to get it sorted! At least it is only £1.04 the item whoever bidded on!

Whilst you were logged in did you actually check whether your account shows you having bought this item? Spoofed emails saying you've bought something you haven't are a common tactic to get you to panic and log in via the link in the email to see what's going on.

Yeah I did, and it looks like it was a normal bid that I had made, I have had an email from eBay saying that it is probably a family member as there isn't anything suspicious about someone else getting access. Now I know it wasn't a family member as that is the first thing I did before I emailed them. I am now a winning bidder for a soldering iron, ACE!

Really don't know how this has happened!

Not sure what can be done about the problem though, is it worth mailing the seller to explain what's happened and see if you can come to an agreement?
