Spec me...

An air rifle....

Every night, and for most of the night, I have this badly postitioned and badly calibrated security light shining though all my bedroom windows..

It's bloody annoying and, unfortunately, due to the party group who live in the house it's attached to, then I can't even get them to reposition it...

Introduction of curtains has helped, but A Final Solution would be appreciated.

Excuse my bad photography skills (when I figure out how to use my camera properly then you'll be the first to know) but here you can see the corona from my sleeping arangement...

Any other advice would be welcome, as always.

I'd love to spec you an air rifle but I'm afraid that my answer is the same as when someone at work asked me if they could borrow my .22 rimfire for the same reason (popping a security light near to them).

No.

Not really sure what you can do, why isn't talking to them an option? Is it on a sensor? If so, then is the sensor too sensitive? If it's on a dusk to dawn thing then it's going to be difficult.

Much better to get a sling shot catapult, Silent & deadly for Stealth attacks

Get a proper one with a frame that goes under your forearm & take it with you out on a few country walks where you can praccy. You'll be surprised how quick you can become accurate with one.
Looking at the size of the light & the distance in the pic I'd say you'll pop that in no time.
Using pebble like stones you pick up whilst walking will also leave no evidence in the pound/security area

Speak to your council, most will have rules that govern artificial light sources. If it's affecting your sleep I assume they should do something about it.

Take plenty of pics and make notes of when it comes on, for how long etc.

Black out blinds? Or curtains? They're superb.

We had them in our flat and not an widgy idgy smidgy bit of light used to get through. We now have similar blinds in our kitchen and also black out curtains in our bedroom.

They're a few extra quid, but are fantastic quality and look fab

Good idea Pheebs. Dym if you want black out lining added to your curtains, I'll happily alter them for you. I had a big orange streetlight outside my window when I was at Uni. Made my curtains out of blackout lining and it never bothered me again.

Don't worry Feekles, I was only joking about the air rifle

I'm pretty sure it's the same property that was being quite loud the night before as well, I shall have to step up my surveillance programme

Will have a wander through the links on Waltham Forest's Light Pollution web-page if I have time this evening.

It's not too much of a problem for me but can be annoying, I'll see what Kate reckons when she gets back from Australia. The simple solution of putting black-out lining on the curtains seems like a good one though (and they're our curtains so we can do what we want with them!)

I have some dark blue blinds I got from Ikea, great for hangovers and the late shift!
