what MX5 have you got?
how much did your turbo cost fitted?
what kind of performance/economy do you see from it?

Hi mate,

I have a W reg (2000) 1.8iS - it's basically the same as the 1.8 but with stiffer suspension, ABS, and an LSD, oh and no air con

The turbo conversion cost under £3k to do (it can be even cheaper if you do more of it yourself), but that's because I bought the bits from the states and had a bit of professional help to get it done.

Performance I see around 200bhp, 60 is low 6s but I reckon with a new clutch I could get under 6s. But it's the mid range acceleration and "whilst driving" acceleration that is really impressive.

Fuel economy, well I got from MB's parents house in Wales to home using less than 2/3's of a tank without ragging it. A steady cruise at 70-75 off boost you're fine for over 30mpg.

nice one you got it done at P5 didn't you? i won't be doing it myself - far too scared!

i might take it somewhere and see what needs doing to it to get it into tip top shape before i think about turboing it...but i wanted to see if it was going to be worth it. seems like it is!!

It's well worth doing. I didn't want to make Will's clutch cry but I still got away with milking it a bit Very impressive, it really adds a whole new dimension to the car.
