Default This weekend i shall be...

...attempting to get off my lazy arse and start using my new camera/lens without going nah i cant be bothered.

Got a bit sick of my new camera gathering dust as a bookend like my old camera before i sold it, so time to dust it off and actually use it. I will raid TP inspiration forum and see what i can select as subjects from there for practising on. Depression hasn't helped either for motivation but it wont win i tell you, it wont win.

I think if weathers nice next weekend will hit the events up in Dunfermline nearby for the jousting and medieval stuff going on. Should be interesting seeing the results for what is a new subject for me

Looks outs dusters and wanders away muttering this could take some time

Wha? Don't forget that the Lord Mayor's parade is also in town at 1pm starting at Pall Mall up to St Georges Hall and back to Castle St. Not a lot of help for you SCM there but the weather is looking good so get out there Sometimes its good to just be out and I find depression can go simply by doing that.

Well tomorrow i am hitting Edinburgh zoo for some long awaited new critter pictures, maybe a few other places as well tomorrow making a day of it with a mate.

As to the Lord Mayors parade pfftttt i have men in armour next weekend jousting for a photo trip planned Its the Dunfermline Robert the Bruce festival at present and it ends next week with the jousting events and more stuff so camera in hand i will wander along.

Plus there is a vintage car event going on around Dunfermline as well so looking at getting to that as well with it being next weekend

My only concern is running out of cards for all the potential photos Might need to see if anyone local has them on sale.

Had a shoot at 10am so I hope you didn't get stuck in the crowds. Ark Royal is here till about 4:30pm Monday. Only open to visitors today till 4, so done now. From what I saw and heard about 10,000 people stopped. I saw a lot of people there.

I've been to that a few times. Its great that they open it to everyone and provide free tickets.

Nearly did that today. I bought a new 4gb card because I knew I'd be busy. What did that mean? Well I can shoot more and still nearly ran out. Hope everyones had a great day of photos

2.5hrs? Ouch. I got shots of the crowds but its hard to show how crowded it is when its a line of people. If I had time I could have tried to blag my way up Beetham Tower for a top down shot. But I was already late for the parade so had to dash.

I am prepared for next weekend though as 2 of the following on order

SanDisk CompactFlash 4 GB EXTREME III

Only £14 each on amazon plus p&p so about £36 ish in total for the 2 cards. They should keep me going with the 40D and it having larger file sizes.

Ok i am back from the zoo trip and not the best of days. My mate who was going with me decided to have a night out so didnt arrive to meet up until alomst 1pm.

So by time we got to the zoo it was full heat so the animals decided to either hide in the shade, out of range of the lens i now have or refuse to turn to face us poor togs with the camera. So i have a lovely collection of back of the head shots of a few big cats, sleeping big cats or out of range cats.

As for the rest of the furry critters the ring tailed lemurs hid under a tree to ruin the shot, the otters decided to hide completely, the meerkats enclosure was so overgrown they could have been there taunting us while still hidden and we would never have known.

Next time i go myself if my lazy mate doesn't turn up on time to at least try to find some decent shots sighs

However on the slightly bright side i might have managed a few decent shots so maybe not a complete loss today but it so felt like it. I need to win the lottery or hope a 100-400mm lens drops off the back of a lorry in case i go back to the zoo and find the animals hiding out of range lol

Photos will appear next few days in the critter pics.

If you'd like some company for a future trip and are free any day 30th June to 5th July, shout in my direction and I'll be glad to help out (I had given the Zoo consideration but it hadn't gone on the definites list yet). Please shout quick though as I'm going to start making plans tomorrow.
