Default Where the bloody hell do you post phone threads these days then?

My phone has AIDS, or Alzheimer's or some other nasty disease. It keeps forgetting numbers and irritating me by telling me that the messages are full - my old Compact II had several thousand texts stored in its memory banks but this k800i cant seem to cope with many at all.

Other than those two gripes, I can't really fault it. The AIDS thing is something that I am told is a SE thing and there is nowt I can do about it. I have had a nose around eGay and they don't seem to go for much at all, meaning I am going to have to bear the brunt of the cost of buying a phone. My contract isn't up for renewal until November (and the deal I am on means that I don't get ANY discount on phones whatsoever in return for a 50% discount every month, which is worth way more than the phone would be!)

I really like the look of the LG Secret and the HTC Diamond, both of which are a bit on the expensive side. The LG Viewty looks good too.

I am not a fan of Symbian at all, although Alex is trying to convince me otherwise...

What phones are out there that are in the same ballpark as the Viewty pricewise, featurewise and lookswise?

I said theres probably nout you can do, but make sure the firmware is bang up to date. Works for some, not for others. Its been a problem since i had my k700i though, so i'm shocked it still does this! Even though i've owned SE phones, i've never really been a total fan though...

Symbian, symbian, symbian. Generally they're faster and smaller and more suited to actually using as a phone compared to WM. But can generally keep up with everything else they do (although they lack a touch screen). I quite like hacing buttons though i can do most stuff by feel without looking

I'd say K850i as a viewty alternative but they're absolute pieces of ****, avoid those.

Not surprised. I have had 3 K800is - the last died on me two months ago. Orange wilfully replaced the last two - no trouble and sent to me next day, but this time they wanted me to take out 'emergency insurance' for £35 plus you have to sign up to it £6 a mth. :/

I told them to sod off and I'll wait for another phone in my upgrade this month.

So I'm open to suggestions aswell
