I think because only the A and B are in focus it works better with just the one colour - if all the letters were in focus then that second one would look ace

I think selective colouring should be something someone does for a tutorial as I would love to know how its done but when people have tried to explain it to me I get lost

For you Sam, copied and pasted from my self made tutorials

Selective Colouring
• Create a Duplicate Layer
• Go to Select, Colour Range
• Choose White Matte and “Plus” Eyedropper
• Select Layer Mask
• Select Background
• Go to Image, Adjust, Gradient Map

Let me know if you get stuck on any step, this works really well for me

I agree with Takhisis, only A & B letters are in focus, so just use them in the use of colour. Though a good idea of use of a everyday item !
