Any Apple iBook/Powerbook G4 owners in the house?
As if the 4.1m batteries Dell recalled last week wasn't enough, Apple have now joined in with a 1.8m battery recall.
https://support.apple.com/ibook_powe...tteryexchange/ They reckon this mess is going to cost sony around £100m. I don't doubt it. |

My Dell account manager told me that the total number of batteries that are affected is somewhere around 12m. I can't help but wonder how many gadgets I have at home with Sony batteries in them.

100million for Apple
2-300 million for Dell Sony don't have much in the way of money around at the moment anyway - this could be interesting. Simon/~Flibster

Add onto that the fact that as of yet - no working final production PS3 has been seen working - they are not in production yet - the Cell chip at it's heart has a 10% yield rate. And my favourite. They're including a BlueRay drive in every machine - but only the more expensive of the 2 machine specs is going to have the HCDP port needed to output in highdef. Add to that the other area's where they are no longer making much in the way of dosh and Sony's position is looking very very shakey. Good. I've yet to own a piece of sony equipment that hasn't had to be replaced within 6 months. 3 minidisk players 2 tv *including 1 very expensive 32" surround sound job* Several stereo's Now...I buy Panasonic, Pioneer, Marantz and Technics and am yet to have a single one break down. I've always had Sony stuff and can not recall a single problem with anything.
I'll get Piggy to check out the iBook tonight :/
