Default Is cervical cancer God's punishment for teenage promiscuity?

Quote:
A Roman Catholic school has banned pupils from receiving the new cervical cancer vaccine on its premises. Governors at St Monica's High School in Prestwich, Greater Manchester, believe the school is "not the right place" to administer the injections. The vaccinations give immunity to key strains of the sexually-transmitted Human Papilloma Virus, responsible for 70% of cervical cancers. (Link)
These medieval "Governors" should be locked up

and if you actually read the article....

Although some religious groups are opposed to the vaccine because of fears it may encourage promiscuity, the governors make no moral objection to the programme.

I went to catholic school, the only, (and I mean this deadly seriously) ONLY sex education I had in school was being told "not to have sex until I got married" oh and "I would go to hell if I didnt do this"

I only left school in 1996, so it wasnt that long ago. They couldnt work out why so many girls were getting pregnant. I thankfully had a Mum who was happy to talk about it.

I hope all the girls get the vaccine from their doctors instead. I wish i'd had the chance for the jab.

Me too!

Hopefully the parents will see sense and get the jabs done elsewhere.

You should write newspaper headlines for a living.

For News of the World!

And in short - nope to the title and yes it's a bit sad they're not going to get the jab in school - however I believe they're arranging a few jab days in local surgerys to try and treat the kiddiewinkles.

If their abstinence programme is so **** that the only difference between their students being pious virgins and utter cock-junkies is receiving a cervical cancer vaccine then I'd suggest that they're not doing a very good job....

Is that a job offer?

If so, can you please provide more details on the remuneration package?

What makes you so sure that I don't do so already?

That sounds suitably efficient, let the GPs deal with it, it's what they're paid to do
