ISO file problem.
I've downloaded Vista 64bit inc sp1 twice tonight from our MSDN and both times it's frozen during burning to dvd and 'failed to read' during extractions.
any ideas why this might be? obviously it might be the file, but i can't imagine they've changed to file and my mates have got it working just fine. :/ |

You got a tool for checksumming? MS give the SHA1 on their site. I'll add some other checksums here in a sec:
en_windows_vista_with_service_pack_1_x64_dvd_x14-29595.iso (downloaded 23-Sep) Filesize: 3,930,677,248 bytes MD5: e4ce0b193d94279e4dce1098d6b5afeb SHA-1: bdadc46a263a7bf67eb38609770e4fdbd05247cb SHA-256: 1fb4b78c9b55dcf74e1eda8e78f6abf6 eca5c986dc23d296a9c54a5e73261ad2 Edit - turning down the burn speed as suggested below is also a good idea. Didn't read your post properly, the Vista D/L with SP1 from comments aren't good mate. I always use a standard Vista 64 without service packs for installs from Pirate bay but if I burn it fast or have that check thingy turned on I just get coasters pal. |

I had absolutely no problem installing from the image I posted above. Done it at least twice now, for good measure. I'm using virtualisation though so it never went anywhere near a physical DVD.

I don't have that ISO so can't verify. Expand the details on MSDN and it should list the SHA-1.
