Default EU Battery rules

That could be interesting. Typical El 'Reg they've taken the anti-Apple route when there are so many mp3 players and all sorts of personal electronic devices out there that have integrated batteries in them.

I'm in two minds. I'd prefer devices to require end user replaceable batteries, as it's particularly useful for long trips, but I'm not sure it ought to be something legislated.
The other stuff in there, like pushing for battery recycling is good. I'd like to see the full text of the proposed law though.

I'm all for having user replaceable batteries, I'm not a fan of buying expensive things that need to pretty much be chucked away when a $20 battery goes tits up.

But yeah, El 'Reg has, as normal, gone anti-Apple but it wouldn't be El 'Reg if they didn't.
