Default Mouldy Plums

No my bollocks are just fine thanks...

But i do have a few plums that are mouldy which i was eating away until i realised i was eating them mouldy. Now they are perfectly ripe and very very juicy, and i don't want to throw them away so.... Can i just wash the mould off and eat? After doing a little reading around the interweb suggest the visible mould is only a fraction of what could be in/on the fruit? How ill can you really get from eating mould?

They're too nice to just throw away so i'm just weighing up pros and cons.

You could always cut away the top layer of the affected area, it might be fine after that. As for how ill, diarrhoea and a sore stomach would be the most likely results I'd guess.

Hmmmm i washed and eat the ones with a small film of mould and gave the remaining few at the bottom a wide birth they flet really juicy but were half covered in mould. It wasn't really something you could cut of on any of them, just a film of greeny mould. I didn't even notice it with my first three...

I'll report back tomorrow if i feel like utter carp...

That all depends upon what different fungi are present in the mould really

You do know that "athletes foot" grows as a mould don't you?
