Get up on that dance floor!
What songs make you do just that?!
At work, I have a strict dancing policy. If any of the following come on - no matter what state I am in or no matter what I am doing - I *have* to get up and dance like a loon through the whole track. Isley Brothers - Fight the Power, Part 2 (have to do Rocky-esque style groove) The Bees - Chicken Payback (Lots of butt wiggling which inevitably means I get nipped by Trio) Tower of Power - Diggin on James Brown (Some sexy moOOoOOves - far to much thrusting to all the trumpets brrps) JK - Little L (JK style walking everywhere) Busta Rhymes - Woo Hah (I have to pretend to be a rapper - quite cringe worthy tbh) The Shadows - Apache (If you've ever seen the Fresh Prince of Belair episode where this is played - that's the dancing I do) The Foos - DOA (Air guitaring and head banging) Chuck Berry - Johnny Be Goode (Air Guitaring and lots of feet shuffling) Divine Comedy - Tonight We Fly (Monty Python style horse riding action or posh violin playing) Lemon Jelly - Nice Weather for the Ducks (lots of floaty dancing and then some crazy solos) Cornershop - Brimful of Asha (General crazy snorkling/comb your hair dancing) Smash Mouth - All Star (Same as above) Michael Jackson - Billie Jean (dodgy moonwalks and Mickey J style dancing) Justin Timberlake - Rock Your Body (Funky dancing or sometimes a full routine of robot moves) Mr Scruff - Get a Move On (Lots of repetative moves - big box little box fishy snorkel) NERD - She Wants To Move (Lots of booty shaking - I WANT THAT GIRLS DRESS IN THE VIDEO!!! Damnit.) Bruce Willus - Swinging on a Star (Prefer this to the Sinatra... lots of tippity tappity type dancing) Queen - Another One Bites The Dust (I just make a tit of myself) Queen - Bohemian Rhapsody (Air guitaring and headbanging) And... I think that's it. I'm sure there's other musts I forgotten but if they turn on I *HAVE* to dance. It's in the rules. |

Queen, Don't stop me now
Can't really define it as a dancing style, as that would be an insult to dancing and it's different every time anyway |

Mr Scruff is GENIUS!
Love it! And not many people notice as I work from home Though, saying that, when I was working for the bobby, was on a night shift and bored about 3am. The station was empty, a choon came on my ipod so I started grooving and singing with all my soul... and low and upon doing an awesome 360 swivel a bunch of burly men caught my eye in the doorway. The Force Support Unit had popped in for a brief on a couple of knocking down doors type jobs and yeh. Had all of them standing in the door way watching! How embarrassing! They brought me free chinese food though so YAY! |

Just about anything from The Blues Brother's Soundtrack is guranteed to get me swinging like a loon.
I'll also pogo to Song 2, Burn Baby Burn, Smells Like Teen Spirit and House of Pain and do the stupid trying to get snot off your fingers thing to the Beastie Boys. The Mr Blonde dance to Stuck in the Middle with You, strutting to the Wiseguys - Ohh, lala (lyrics are 'Stewart jive!' I'm telling you) and trying to get funky to Stevie Wonders Superstition - although like most white men I do it very badly.
